School Closure

March 27, 2020

Dear Earlimart Families,

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, Earlimart School District would like to announce that a decision has been made, with the support of the Board of Trustees, that Earlimart School District will extend our school closure until further notice.

We understand this decision will have a significant impact on our community, but at this time, we believe this will help reduce the possible impact from further spread of the virus. The safety of our students, staff, and the community is of the utmost importance.

Tulare County Superintendent has given to all county superintendents the following criteria that will be used to determine when school should be open for student attendance:

1. The California State Shelter in Place Executive Order has been lifted.

2. The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in California has remained constant for a two-week period or declined.

3. The directive to “social distance” has been removed by the State of California.

4. The limit of people placed on social gatherings has been removed by the State of California.

Student breakfast and lunches will continue to be available at our school sites and delivered to district bus stops.

We will keep you updated regularly of any changes.

Sincerely,

Philip Nystrom

Superintendent
